John Abi Zaid

General John P. Abizaid is a former Hoover National Security Affairs fellow who took over as head of the U.S. Army’s Central Command on July 7, 2003. Lebanese-American Abizaid assumed command from General Tommy R. Franks in a ceremony led by Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld in Tampa, Florida.
